1-Student Admission Requirements: In order to apply to our University's Textile Engineering Department PhD program, you must have an undergraduate or master's degree with thesis, and those who have completed a master's degree or have a bachelor's degree of at least 10 semesters, excluding preparatory classes, must have at least 55 ALES points. Those who will apply with an undergraduate degree of less than ten semesters, excluding preparatory classes, must have an ALES score of at least 80 and an undergraduate graduation grade point average of at least 80 out of 100 or 3 out of 4. Those who apply to doctoral/art proficiency study programs must get at least 55 from YDS or an equivalent score from an exam whose equivalence is accepted by the Interuniversity Board. In order to be accepted to graduate programs, foreign candidates must have a diploma from a higher education institution in Turkey or a diploma of an institution whose undergraduate or graduate education is accepted as equivalent by the Council of Higher Education. Foreign students who will apply to the doctoral program must get at least 55 from YDS in one of the foreign languages accepted by the Interuniversity Board, other than their native language, or an equivalent score from an exam whose equivalence is accepted by the Interuniversity Board.

The Senate may increase the minimum scores, if necessary, depending on the characteristics of the programs to be entered. Foreign students who graduate from a higher education institution in Turkey are subject to the same conditions as Turkish nationals regarding their ALES score. They are required to obtain an equivalence certificate from the Council of Higher Education and a Turkish proficiency certificate from TÖMER. Turkish proficiency certificate is not required in departments that provide education in foreign languages. The institute board of directors is authorized to determine the entry requirements for foreign students.

In the evaluation of student admission to doctoral programs; If there is no interview, the success score is calculated by taking 50% of the ALES score, 30% of the master's grade average and 20% of the foreign language score. In departments where an interview exam is held, 50% of the ALES score, 15% of the master's grade average, 15% of the foreign language score and 20% of the interview exam are taken. For those who will apply for a doctorate with an undergraduate degree of less than ten semesters, excluding preparatory classes, the undergraduate grade point average is used to calculate the success score. The success score must be at least 60. Candidates with a score above 60 are placed in the relevant programs according to the announced quotas in order from the highest score. In case of equality of scores, the candidate with a higher ALES score is preferred. A candidate who does not take the interview exam is considered unsuccessful.

2-Recognition of Prior Learning: Students who come to our University's Textile Engineering PhD program through horizontal transfer are subject to "ERCİYES UNIVERSITY POSTGRADUATE EDUCATION AND EXAMINATION REGULATIONS PART THREE ARTICLE 17". Foreign students who come to our university's Textile Engineering PhD program are subject to "ERCIYES UNIVERSITY POSTGRADUATE EDUCATION AND EXAMINATION REGULATIONS CHAPTER THREE ARTICLE 18". Students who come to our university's Textile Engineering PhD program with special student status are stated in "ERCİYES UNIVERSITY POSTGRADUATE EDUCATION-TRAINING AND EXAMINATION REGULATIONS PART THREE ARTICLE 16". Course substitution procedures in our university's Textile Engineering PhD program are carried out according to "ERCIYES UNIVERSITY GRADUATE EDUCATION-TRAINING AND EXAMINATION REGULATIONS CHAPTER FOUR ARTICLE 23".

3-Measurement and Evaluation: Issues regarding measurement and evaluation are stated in the Erciyes University Postgraduate Education Regulation dated February 16, 2017:

(1) Exams are evaluated out of 100 points. Midterm and final exam results of a course are shown with numerical scores. The score of the exams that the student did not take is zero (0).

(2) The calculation of the success grade is as follows:

a) The midterm exam score average is determined by dividing the sum of the scores the student received in the midterm exams by the number of midterm exams taken. The fractional numbers found in this way are increased to the nearest whole number.

b) Success score is calculated by adding 40% of the midterm exam score average to 60% of the semester, year-end and make-up exam scores. Midterm exam grades are not taken into account in a single course exam. The success grade of students who take a single course exam is determined only based on their single course exam grade. In calculating these ratios, fractions are kept as they are, but in calculating the success score, fractional numbers are rounded to the nearest whole number.

c) For each course taken by students within the framework of the graduate program; A letter grade is given by faculty members in response to the success score calculated above, using the table below:

c) In order to be considered successful in a course; Master's program students must have received at least a CC grade, and doctoral program students must have received at least a CB grade. In order for scientific preparation program students to be deemed successful in a course, the minimum grades determined for the graduate program they are enrolled in are valid. In calculating the success grades of graduate program students who take courses in the undergraduate program, the letter success grade determined by the evaluation method applied in the undergraduate program is taken as basis.
